Family Care Network provides Homemaking, Personal Care and Respite Care services to older adults residing in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties. These services are provided by professionally trained and supervised caregivers with a focus on helping families maintain an adequate living environment and the prevention of placement in a long-term care facility. Family Care Network works closely with the Detroit Area Agency on Aging, the Area Agency on Aging 1B of Oakland and Macomb, The Senior Alliance, The Information Center and United Way to identify and provide services to this population. Family Care Network also accepts private pay clients for these services. Homemaking Services enable an individual to achieve and maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment. These services include assistance with laundry, meal preparation, shopping and errands, and light housecleaning.
Personal Care Services enable an individual to achieve optimal function with activities of daily living. Personal Care services assist the individual with necessary daily activities that cannot be performed without assistance. These services can include assistance with eating/feeding, toileting, bathing, grooming, dressing, transferring, ambulation and transporting as well as laundry, meal preparation, shopping and errands, and light housecleaning. Personal Care does not include services that would require a nurse or certified nursing assistant. Respite Services provides companionship supervision and/or assistance with activities of daily living in the absence of or to relieve the primary caregiver. These services are provided in the individual’s home or place of residence.
Family Care Network's Home Care Assistance Programs are available to persons 60 years of age or older in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties. There are no required charges for referrals accepted from the Area Agencies on Aging or from the United Way.
