Family Care Network provides home-based services to at-risk families in Wayne and Macomb counties. Our philosophy is to design systems that are responsive to the immediate needs of the family while assisting families in becoming self-sufficient in order to cope with challenges in the future. Family Care Network works closely with the Department of Human Services (formerly FIA), the Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC) and the State of Michigan. All services are provided by skilled professionals with a focus on role modeling, teaching and demonstrating parenting skills.
Parent Education classes are conducted by professional educators to parents referred from the Department of Human Services with oversight from the JAC. Family Care Network has developed a comprehensive series of classes consisting of 14 sessions that addresses child management skills, effective parenting strategies and age-appropriate expectations. Classes are conducted in the community at eight different locations.
Parent Aide Program provides positive parenting role models to families at risk for out-of-home placement. Parent Aides work to strengthens families by teaching families effective ways to manage their lives independently. Through the sharing of personal experiences and understanding of basic child growth and development, nurturing, discipline, health and safety, home management and problem solving techniques, the Parent Aides assists families in remaining intact.
Therapeutic Counseling is provided by Master's level clinicians who are certified or licensed by the State of Michigan. These services are provided to individuals, families, seniors and other significant individuals in the household. Counseling is provided in the home.
