Supportive Housing Program

The Supportive Housing Program is designed to move homeless individuals and families from streets, shelters and transitional housing to permanent housing. Case management and support services are provided to assist individuals and families with obtaining and maintaining permanent housing, increasing their skills and/or income and achieving greater self-determination.

Family Care Network Supportive Housing Program is a collaborative of four non-profit agencies  funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  Family Care Network collaborative partners are:

  • Child Care Coordinating Council of Detroit/Wayne County (4C)
  • Health Services Technical Assistance - Addiction Treatment Services (HSTA-ATS)
  • Neighborhood Legal Services Michigan (NLSM)

Services directly funded by the SHP collaborative include:

  • Outreach, Intake and Assessment
  • Substance Abuse Assessment and Referral for Treatment
  • Development of a viable childcare plan and limited funding for childcare
  • Budget Counseling
  • Housing Search and Relocation Assistance
  • Home-based Case Management Services
  • Home Management and Life Skills Training
  • Employment Readiness Training
  • Direct Client Assistance
  • Referral to other community-based services and resources.

Family Care Network maintains a donation store for individuals and families receiving services through the Supportive Housing Program.  Through the generous donations of members in the community, Family Care Network has furniture, household items and some appliances available to assist families in obtaining the items they need to establish a home.

Family Care Network is accepting donations of the following item for our donation store:

Couches, chairs, tables, lamps, beds, dishes, flatware, pots and pans,kitchen supplies,window dressing and other household items.
